Emergency Room Malpractice
Tuesday, April 28th, 2009
The ER is a place that you typically don’t choose to visit. Quite often, a trip to the ER means that there is a life in the balance and immediate medical care is needed in order to minimize injury or prevent death. Working in an ER is an intensely stressful job for any medical professional, no matter the amount of training and education they have received. Despite that fact, those medical professionals who choose not to uphold their duty to provide the highest quality of care to all of their patients should be held accountable for their negligence.
Types of emergency room negligence can include:
- Medication errors
- Delay in diagnosing a serious condition
- Failure to diagnose a serious condition
- Errors in admission to the ER
- Physician or nursing negligence
- Faulty or incomplete testing
- Premature discharge of a patient
